Bridgette Martin Hard, who co-created BRITE Ideas with Learning Innovation, shares her vision:
The BRITE Ideas series is really about building a community of teachers who want to be better. Throughout the year, we will learn about completed research projects on teaching and learning, offer feedback on projects-in-progress, and brainstorm new ideas for common problems in our teaching practices. I expect that, at a minimum, we will learn a lot about teaching. More ambitiously, I expect many new collaborations and projects to spring from this series.
The BRITE Ideas series is the outcome of a BRITE Lab and Learning Innovation collaborative teaching event for the Duke community held on April 18, 2018. The event highlighted a collection of lightning talks with Bridgette Martin Hard and her team of students. Student presentations came from a seminar on classroom research that Learning Innovation supported with a Jump Start Grant.
Learning Innovation looks forward to welcoming the Duke community to BRITE Ideas. Bridgette Martin Hard shares her insights on our collaborative efforts:
In addition to co-creating BRITE Ideas, Learning Innovation is helping to build tools and templates to make it easier for faculty to get involved in research on teaching. This is groundbreaking work that will really position Duke as a leader in this effort.
