In this short video, Dr. Laura Lieber, Associate Professor for the Department of Religion, Assistant Director of Jewish Studies, and Director of the Center for Late Ancient Studies, describes the Team-Based Learning (TBL) process that she used in her Fall 2012 seminar course, Food in the Jewish Tradition. The seminar, offered only to first-year students, provided students with the chance to engage in “an examination of the role and significance of food in Jewish custom, ritual, and cultures from ancient times until the present.” Lieber redesigned the course to include TBL while participating in CIT’s 2012 Team-Based Learning Course Design Fellows Program.
