Lisa Merschel enhanced a project (Tarea Calificada) she has used in her in course for several semesters. For the project, students research a location where DukeEngage has programs, present information about that destination, and create a letter asking for funding from DukeEngage to embark on their travel to this place.
Karine Provot wanted to improve the outcomes of an audio journal project for her French 63 students, particularly by better establishing the connections between what students learned and talked about in class and this ongoing out-of-class assignment.
In 2008-2009, a group of eight Duke faculty from a variety of disciplines participated in the CIT’s Student Video Fellows program. The participants explored new ways of engaging students with video assignments and, at the end of the program, assembled a guide on resources, ideas and best practices for use by other faculty.
