In addition to being a world-class museum of art, the Nasher at Duke also provides excellent support for faculty and students in teaching and learning in any discipline.
The museum’s academic program staff work one-on-one with faculty to:
- design tours of exhibitions and collections in storage,
- create lesson plans and assignments focusing on Museum artifacts and collections and
- plan installations that complement courses (requires longer lead-times).

New exhibitions 2019-20
1. Art For a New Understanding: Native Voices, 1950s to Now (Aug 29, 2019 – Jan 12, 2020) – the first comprehensive survey of contemporary Indigenous art in the United States and Canada.
2. Cosmic Rhythm Vibrations (Sept 28th, 2019 – March 1, 2020) — highlights works from the Nasher Museum collection, including our contemporary, African, and ancient American holdings, that engage visual and musical rhythm.
3. Anarchism and the Political Art of Les Temps Nouveaux, 1895 – 1914 (Oct 5 – Dec 15, 2019) – this Incubator Gallery exhibition brings together prints and graphic materials that were donated by key modern European artists in support of the anarchist journal Les Temps Nouveaux.
