What You Need to Know
Duke released a new suite of artificial intelligence tools to provide faculty, staff and students access to generative artificial intelligence in a secure environment at no cost or a significantly discounted rate. Duke’s AI suite is designed to make AI more accessible, secure, and practical. The new offerings include ChatGPT Edu and DukeGPT, a secure, Duke-managed platform to explore and compare advanced AI models. To support the Duke community in exploring this new suite of AI tools, LILE hosted a four-part workshop series designed to empower Duke community members to better understand, engage with, and responsibly use generative AI tools. The goal was to build foundational knowledge of AI, explore ethical considerations, boost productivity, and introduce Duke-specific resources that make it easier to experiment with AI in a safe and supported environment.
Each session offered participants valuable insights, hands-on demonstrations, and curated tools to take back to their departments or classrooms. Below, you’ll find a quick summary of each workshop, along with links to recordings, slides, and additional resources for deeper exploration.
