The panel discussion will include past experiences of managing virtual and in-person classes, office hours, grading, department-specific training, inclusivity and active student engagement. Anderson Hagler headshot

Anderson Hagler is a Ph.D. candidate at Duke University where he has taught as an instructor of record on three occasions. In response to the pandemic, Anderson created a new online course entitled Disease through the Ages, which was well received by undergraduates interested in history, public policy and epidemiology. Anderson is currently a Bass Digital Education Fellow and has presented at TA workshops throughout the year. Lauren Heckelman headshot

Lauren Heckelman is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in biomedical engineering (BME). She is a life-long Blue Devil, having previously obtained her B.S.E. and M.S. degrees in BME from Duke in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Dayton Kinney headshot

Dayton Kinney is a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in Music Composition. Dayton has served as a TA and instructor of record for four years with additional experience prior to her time at Duke. She is currently a Bass Digital Education Fellow, active within the Certificate in College Teaching and a previous Preparing Future Faculty Fellow. Qingran Li headshot

Qingran Li is a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Policy. She works in the interdisciplinary field of environmental and energy economics. She has been a TA for multiple courses in the Sanford School of Public Policy.
