The Howard Hughes Medical Institute has partnered with Duke to create a Collaboratory On Mentoring, Persistence, Assessment, and Student Success (COMPASS). COMPASS at Duke will provide both faculty and students with support to teach and learn in diverse ways that work for different groups of students, particularly in the early STEM classes. COMPASS will engage students and faculty, span multiple departments and create a community of STEM learners and research practitioners
