Learning Innovation & Lifetime Education (LILE) is here to help Duke faculty with teaching; we offer many programs and workshops throughout the year to help build teaching skills and to provide opportunities for faculty to connect with each other to share teaching knowledge and experiences. If you have questions about teaching, please contact us or come by our weekly drop-in office hours.

- Teaching consultants to help faculty plan and design in-person or online courses; email us at learninginnovation@duke.edu to schedule an appointment.
- Online guides for course planning and special topics such as generative AI in the classroom
- Information and advice about using Duke’s learning technology environment (Canvas, WordPress, Zoom, Gradescope, VoiceThread, Warpwire and many more tools….we know learning about them all can be confusing, and we can help!)
- Faculty development programs to connect with other faculty and build teaching skills and knowledge;
- A calendar of events such as workshops, panels and talks on various teaching topics;
- Guidance on how to create or locate appropriate teaching materials for your course (Open Educational Resources, existing library materials, recorded video segments, and more)
- Support for doing research on your teaching, or for developing and piloting new education tools or technologies; and
- A monthly e-newsletter with lots of opportunities and resources for your teaching.

These resources are available to faculty teaching undergraduate courses at Duke. If you are teaching a course in a professional school, please check for resources within your school.
- In general, if you have concerns about your classroom assignment, first check within your department with your Director for Undergraduate (or Graduate) Studies or departmental admin assistant, to see if they can help.

- The Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides tutoring for students on many subjects, as well as general help for students on time management and study skills development

- Nasher Museum of Art academic initiatives staff can design tours of exhibitions and collections in storage, and help design lesson plans and assignments that complement courses.
