International teaching conference to be held in Raleigh

issotl-logoThe 10th annual conference of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL), called “Critical Transitions in Teaching and Learning,” will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, October 2 – 5, 2013. The conference is hosted by Elon University’s Center for Engaged Learning.

From the description on the conference’s website:
In higher education around the world, inquiry into student learning is moving from isolated practice to systematic research, from peripheral projects to institutional integration, from the margins of disciplines and campuses toward a central position in the academy. This conference will focus on these and other transitions in scholarly teaching and the scholarship of teaching and learning. At the conference, you will have the opportunity to explore both individual inquiry projects and also broader questions about the scholarship and practice of teaching and learning in higher education.

This conference will be a great opportunity to interact with education practitioners from around the world, and explore some of the interesting questions being researched (and the methods used to do so). There is an exciting line-up of plenary speakers (including Lee S. Shulman, President Emeritus of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching). You can view the Conference-at-a-Glance, learn about Pre-Conference Workshops – including a Council on Undergraduate Research Symposium, and browse the conference schedule. Early-bird registration is available through 9/16/2013.
