CIT and the Kenan Institute for Ethics are co-sponsoring the inaugural 2011 Bass Society of Fellows speaker series: Re-imaging the Academy. The series invites five national experts to discuss the many challenges and changes facing American higher education, as they propose ways the academy might adapt and transform to embrace such changes.
The first speaker, Laura Palmer Noone, presents Postcards from the Edge: What For-Profits Can Teach Us About the “New Normal” on February 2nd, 5pm at the Sanford School of Public Policy, Room 04. Noone, the former CEO of the University of Phoenix, helped create the largest private university in the United States and is an expert on for-profit, online higher education. Faculty, particularly those interested in distance and online education and the increased use of technology in education, won’t want to miss Noone’s talk.
